Chad Kagy Bio

Chad Kagy started out dirt jumping in Northern California before gaining notoriety for his park. Now he's set his sights on conquering the vert world. A broken neck at the 2003 Gravity Games while working on a double backflip sidelined him for a mere 9 months before he returned to the scene with a vengeance.

A fourth place finish at the 2004 X Games was only a preview of greater triumphs to come. At the 2005 X Games, Chad brought home a silver and a bronze medal. Then, in 2006 at X Games 12, Chad accomplished something nobody could have predicted - he took the gold in the Freestyle Vert competition beating out fellow BMX legends Jamie Bestwick and Simon Tabron. He did it by pulling off a flatspin barspin flair - the first time that trick was ever landed in a competition. And Kagy wasn't done leaving his mark on X Games 12 - he also took home the silver in the inaugural BMX Big Air event.
